1UP CREW (One United Power) is a Berlin-based Graffiti Crew. The group is from Berlin-Kreuzberg and has been active since 2003.
It is unclear how many sprayers belong to the group.
By August 2017, the police counted over 300 criminal complaints against 1UP. Nevertheless, the Berlin State Office for Criminal Investigation has been unable to seize members of the crew since its creation in 2003. Indeed, the members leave few traces that could lead to their capture. They are always masked, wear gloves and manipulate video surveillance in advance. Anonymity is key!
In a typical Berlin style they're militant and always up for solidarity projects. Recently they helped raise funds for the Little Sun Foundation “Solar Kids School Program”, a solar project that provides clear, safe and sustainable light and phone charging to school children and their teachers in Rwanda. 1UP crew members painted old solar panels that were then auctioned.
1up is one of the best known German graffiti crew and are recognised internationally. When walking around Berlin, just open your eyes and you'll be sure to see some of their pieces.
