Metropolis at Babylon with Live Orchestra

Like no other film, METROPOLIS represents the heyday of the German silent film made in Berlin - Babelsberg. The timeless masterpiece R: Fritz Lang with Brigitte Helm and Alfred Abel, is showing in the mythic Babylon Movie theater (opened 90 years ago) with a live Orchestra conducted by Marcelo Falcão.

Metropolis is one of the first sci-fi movies and its history and images have been a major influenced for following generations.

Indeed a lot of subtle nods can be found throughout subsequent Sci-Fi productions but even mainstream popular culture (The Police station in Blade Runner: an exact replica of one of the towers seen in Metropolis, the set and some props in Dark City, the final fight scene between Batman and The Joker in Tim Burton's first Batman movie, Madonna's video "Express yourself", Lady Gaga's "Alejandro"and "Paparazzi"...).

Like Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony" , The Declaration Of Human Rights, Gutenberg's Bible...Metropolis is part of the UNESCO World Heritage, which asserts its cultural importance.

Don't miss out on a chance to see the movie in some of the best conditions possible, like a being transported back in time.

There are only two sessions, so tickets won't last long!
